Just Another Manic Monday

There are several doubts and fears that creep up on me while I’m planning for an extended life of Round the World travel. NomadicChick wrote a wonderful post on dealing with demons, both internal and external. http://www.nomadicchick.com/fighting-negative-demons/

One of the biggest and most irrational fears that I have is that I won’t be able to write well enough. Keep in mind that I’m not leaving on this journey to make a living as a travel writer. Sure, in the back of my mind, if I can find ways to monetize different parts of my trip or the chronicles of it, that would be amazing. But it’s not critical and it’s not one of the goals I’ve set out for what I want to accomplish.*

Here’s the problem – I’m a horrendous combination of shy and an attention whore.

I’m terrified that I won’t find a voice that people enjoy. One goal that I DO have is to share my experiences with friends, family and anyone else who’s interested. What if no one is interested? That’s certainly a possibility. Will it change my trip? Sure, in part. If I’m not having experiences that are compelling enough that people care, then obviously I’m not passionate enough about what I’m doing. » Read more: Just Another Manic Monday
